... a piece of warm felt is created from individual fibers. Like life itself. I use almost exclusively Swedish sheep's wool and the wool from our own Alpackas. Gotland sheep, mountain sheep, Jämtland sheep, Värmland sheep and Poll Merino from the north of Sweden I wash the wool, card it and use it in its natural shade or dye it with plants, flowers and mushrooms that I find here in northern Sweden. The wool colors bear a clear signature of the nature of the high coast, Ångermanland. . |
The combination and variety of materials create unique surfaces
I use scarves, ribbons and fabrics, wool threads, silk fabrics - many of them beloved finds at flea markets and bazaars as design elements. Plant fibers from the forest and garden give the felt a unique structure. There is hardly any waste; I use almost every piece of felt or fabric in a different way. |
